Accident expense

What the 24 Hour Accident Expense Plan actually pays

Cover for the medical expenses and the living costs that arrive together when an accident takes you off your feet unexpectedly.

Chapter 01

What the plan pays for

The 24 Hour Accident Expense Plan is built to help cover medical expenses and living costs when you get hurt unexpectedly. It is not limited to one type of accident or one time of day. The name means what it says: cover that applies around the clock.

It pays for Accidental Death, Ground or Air Ambulance, Daily Hospital Income, and Dismemberment. Those four benefits are the core of what the plan is built to do.

The living-cost side people miss

Most people think about the hospital bill first and the rest of the month second. The Daily Hospital Income benefit is aimed at the second part: the bills that keep arriving while you are not working, whether or not you are still in a hospital bed.

An accident that keeps you off work for a stretch does not pause a mortgage payment or a grocery bill. That is the gap this side of the plan sits against, alongside the medical expense side.

Chapter 03

The optional Accident Disability Benefit Rider

An Optional Accident Disability Benefit Rider is available on top of the base plan, up to $2,000 per month. It is an add-on, not part of the standard benefit, so ask Mike specifically whether it is included in a quote or whether it needs to be added.

For anyone self-employed or without paid time off through an employer, that rider is worth asking about directly rather than assuming it is already built in.

That is the ceiling on the Optional Accident Disability Benefit Rider, on top of the plan’s Accidental Death, ambulance, hospital income and dismemberment benefits. Ask Mike whether it is already part of your quote.
